I made this one of a kind piece from twigs and shelf mushrooms I collected with my mom last summer! It's a dreamy piece that evokes thoughts of woodland escapes and the magical power of growth and rebirth. Also a nod to Demeter, the ancient Greek Goddess of spring and summer harvest, and the cycle of life and death. She is also mother to the doomed Persephone...

I built this piece in wax around this stunning piece of Hedenbergite Quartz that I have been hoarding away for years (they are apparently hard to find now). The shelf mushrooms sprout perfectly around the shimmery pastel opal and a snail passenger is along for the ride as well! Cast in solid sterling silver, this large piece measures at about 4" at it's widest and from snail top to bottom of crystal is 2.5". The opal is approximately 8mm by 5mm. One of a kind! It hangs on an 18" - 20" adjustable 2mm rolo sterling silver chain. I bet you can also wear it as a crown! :-)
